Akakura Onsen

Akakura Onsen is one of the most iconic ski resorts in the Myoko area, seamlessly blending world-class skiing with Japan's rich onsen (hot spring) culture. With 17 courses spread across a 1,050-meter vertical drop and serviced by 15 lifts, the resort offers excellent variety for all skill levels. The resort receives approximately 1,200cm of snow annually, delivering the legendary Myoko powder that draws skiers from around the world.

The resort's greatest charm lies in the historic Akakura Onsen village at its base, where visitors can soak in natural hot springs after a day on the slopes. The area boasts numerous traditional ryokan and hotels, many offering ski-in/ski-out convenience. Night skiing is available, extending the ski day well into the evening. The resort's upper areas connect with neighboring Akakura Kanko resort, effectively expanding the available terrain for adventurous skiers.
